The PhotoChallenge 2019 is open to students enrolled in a higher education institution (Universities, Colleges, undergraduate and postgraduate courses).

Why has Mucca established the PhotoChallenge 2019?

As a Tech Startup, Mucca is focused on looking to the future. And also as a fashion lover, our company feels the importance of supporting causes that are the future of it. That's why we've created the PhotoChallenge 2019: The Dictatorship of Beauty, to honor and encourage students who also believe that this cause is important important to debate.

What is the prize of the PhotoChallenge 2019?

If your photo becomes the overall winner, you will receive a prize of $3.000 (three thousand dollars) and will also be asked to pick one of the NGO partners of the PhotoChallenge 2019 to also win $1.000.

What is the entry deadline and fee?

The deadline for entries to the PhotoChallenge 2019 is 23:59 GMT on October 31st, 2019. There is no fee payable for subscribing for the PhotoChallenge 2019.

What are the main requirements for submitting an entry?

The main things we will need you to provide us are:

A photo along with it's description up to 400 characters;
Proof of enrollment;
Identification document containing a photo;
The PHOTO can be made in a group or individually;
Names of those who should be credited for the photo;
The photo should be saved in .JPG format. The maximum dimensions of the photo should be of 1250px X 820px (landscape) or 820px X 1250x (portrait) and the total size of the JPG file cannot exceed 10MB;
Image and manipulation treatments will be accepted. But the final product should maintain the appearance of photography;
There will not be accepted illustrations.

Who judges PhotoChallenge 2019?

We believe that the foundation of all good awards is to select a strong, fair and experienced competition jury that, through its valuable insight and knowledge base, is able to evaluate entries submitted with mastery.

That's why our jury is composed of professionals with experience in fashion, photography, and specialists in the subject matter covered. They are not authorized to participate in the competition and they are not employees of Mucca. Please see details of the judging panel here.

How is the winner chosen?

After the application period closes, Mucca will go through all applications and select those projects that provided the proper material and are eligible. Thus, the international judging committee will evaluate the valid projects by assigning a score from 0 to 10 to each one of these criteria:

Creativity;
Technical Quality;
Theme
The members of the judging committee will evaluate the photo by compiling the sum of a scoring ranking for each item evaluated, according to the table above.

How will my photo be used?

By submitting a photo in this Contest, the entrant warrants and represents that (s)he owns all of the intellectual and industrial property rights in and to the photo. Further, the entrant as a condition of entry, grant Mucca an irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free, and non-exclusive license to use and publicly display the photo and the entrant's name to promote the PhotoChallenge. Mucca commits to not publicly perform with promotional purposes, neither to create a derivative work from the submitted photo.

Will I be compensated for the use of my photo?

There is no monetary remuneration for the use of the photo.

Terms and Conditions

1. The Competition

1.1. The PhotoChallenge 2019 will recognize and reward those photos who are able to demonstrate innovative ideas capable of creating a reflection and debate about the problems related to the search for the perfect appearance.

1.2. By entering this competition, companies and the individuals entering on their behalf, agree to be bound by these terms and conditions and acknowledge that failure to comply with them may result in disqualification.

1.3. The PhotoChallenge will close at 23:59 GMT on October 31st 2019. Submissions received after the closing date will not be considered. No purchase or payment of any fee is necessary to enter.

1.4. The promoter and administrator of this Competition is Mucca, whose registered office is at Curitiba, Brazil.

2. Eligibility

2.1. It will only be accepted entries from students enrolled in a higher education institution (Universities, Colleges, undergraduate and postgraduate courses).

2.2. For group registrations, all team members must be duly enrolled in a higher education institution, on any kind, of course.

2.3. Restrictions. Are prohibited from taking part in this competition employees and immediate family members of employees of Mucca.

3. Entry Requirement

3.1. Online Entry Form, from January 1st to October 31st, 2019. In order to enter attendants must complete the online entry form found at jakandjil.com/photochallenge2019. All entries must be submitted in English. There is a limit of three entries a single person may submit, however each entry must correspond to a different and distinct photo idea. Participants agree that any and all information they submit to the PhotoChallenge 2019 for the purposes of entering this competition shall:

3.1.1. Not be offensive, defamatory or otherwise unlawful;

3.1.2. Not infringe the intellectual property rights or any other rights of any third party.

3.2. The registration in the Competition will imply the full acceptance of this Regulation.

3.3. After finishing the entry, the candidate must post his/her photo on Instagram with the hashtag: #jakandjilproconfidence, and also follow the jak&jil page on Instagram (@jakandjil) to complete the registration.

3.4. Any personal data which may be submitted in an entry will be processed by Mucca in accordance with the Jak&Jil privacy policy, available at https://jakandjil.com/privacy_policy/.

3.5. Intellectual property rights. By submitting a photo in this competition, the entrant warrants and represents that (s)he owns all of the intellectual and industrial property rights in and to the photo. Mucca reserves the right to make use of the photos for promotional material in connection with the Awards, as well as announcing the winners publicly. Use of material in this capacity either in whole or part will not attract payment of copyright. Where we are made aware of their names, all the ones involved in the photo will be credited.

4. Deliveries

4.1. The main things we will need you to provide us are:

4.1.1. A photo (send to: upload@jakandjil.com) along with it's description up to 400 characters;

4.1.3. Identification document containing a photo send to upload@jakandjil.com;

4.1.4. The photo can be made in a group or individually;

4.1.5. Names of those who should be credited for the photo;

4.1.6. The photo should be saved in .JPG format. The maximum dimensions of the photo should be of 1250px X 820px (landscape)or 820px X 1250x (portrait) and the total size of the JPG file cannot exceed 10MB;

4.1.7. Image and manipulation treatments will be accepted. But the final product should maintain the appearance of photography;

4.1.8. There will not be accepted illustrations.

5. Judging

5.1. The judging commission defined by Mucca will be made up of consultants with experience in the areas of fashion, photography and specialists in the subject matter covered;

5.2. The Judging Panel shall analyze and evaluate from 1 to 10 each following criteria:
5.3. Creativity;
5.4. Technical Quality;
5.5. Theme;

5.6. Evaluation. The members of the judging committee will evaluate the photo by compiling the sum of a scoring ranking according to each criteria above.

5.7. The evaluation period of the photos by the judging committee: December 15, 2019, to January 10, 2020;

5.8. The above dates may change. Should this occur, the new dates will be announced in advance;

5.9. There is no element of chance in determining the Competition winners. The Judging Panel's decision is final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into.

6. General

6.1. Mucca reserves the right in its sole discretion to cancel, suspend or amend the Competition, and to exclude any entries which it considers are inappropriate, false or do not comply with these terms and conditions.

6.2. Mucca is not responsible for:

6.3. Any incomplete or inaccurate information used in connection with the PhotoChallenge 2019;

6.4. Failures or errors which may occur in the administration of the PhotoChallenge 2019.

6.5. Prize money will be paid within 1 year of the winner's announcement on January 10th, 2020.
